Mango and Beetroot Super Smoothie

Drinking a smoothie everyday has become a part of our daily routine over the last 10 years. Whether red, purple, green or sometimes even brown, they taste great and are loved by the whole family. It’s such a quick and easy way to give your body a boost of good energy and nutrients! Turmeric is known to have many health benefits – it contains curcumin which works as a natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, ginger helps digestion, and freshly ground flaxseeds are a good source of a particular omega-3 fat called ALA (alpha-linolenic acid). This mango and beetroot super smoothie is packed full of flavour and I hope you love it as much as we do.

This recipe is suitable for Thermomix TM5 and TM31.

Ingredients

  • 250 g ripe mango flesh, from 1 large mango
  • 150 g cucumber, cut in 3-4 cm pieces
  • 40 g beetroot
  • 30 g linseeds/flax seeds
  • 20 g fresh ginger, not peeled, cut in 2 mm coins along lines on skin
  • 15 g fresh turmeric, not peeled, cut in 2 mm coins along lines on skin
  • 10 g lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 350 g apple and mango juice
  • 5 grinds freshly ground black pepper
  • 120 g ice cubes
  • 50 g kefir, Greek yoghurt or coconut yoghurt

Method

  1. Blend all ingredients 3 min/speed 10 and enjoy!
